It's happening this week!

YES FOLKS! this is it,
The Big Faraja Gig will soon be upon us (SATURDAY 31ST OCT @ THE HALF TIME ORANGE, Burnmoor Street Leicester)

SO WHAT HAS HAPPENED SO FAR?

Our team has been really busy!
  • We have been busy handing out fliers,
  • adjusted the ticket price on the posters & fliers
  • Heard the Pickpockets on TakeOver radio where the gig also got a mention,
  • Helen (chairperson of Faraja Support) and band members from Produkty and the Weekend Schemers undertook a fantastic interview on BBC Radio Leicester on 24th October with Pinash on the 'into Africa Programme' (well done guys)
  • We have now got three Media students (Ben, Harley & Joe) from South Leicestershire College, Wigston, Leicester, on board to video and take photos of the event. Thank you to Morgan for instigating and making it happen.

WHATS HAPPENING NEXT?

I will be undertaking an interview on LEICESTER SOUND Radio, which will be broadcast on Friday 30th October on 'the breakfast show with Ivan Dsa' (i am looking forward to that).

Finally we all need to promote this gig and have a fantastic time on Saturday (HALLOWEEN) Hope to see you all there.

This gig is in aid of Faraja Support(Reg:1125285). The charity supports orphaned and impoverished children in Northern Tanzania. The charity is currently working towards two projects. The first is the establishment of a Home-from-Home and a property is currently being refurbished to be used as the first (of hopefully many) home for children in genuine need of support. The second is a truely innovative mobile play scheme - a fully equipped vehicle and two play workers will move around villages bringing play to children who would otherwise have no access to any form of early years learning.

ONLY 3 WEEKS TO GO!

Welcome to all the new students joining our Leicestershire Uni's & colleges. You have probably seen our posters, heard us on the radio, know someone from facebook, twitter or picked up a flier. As you are aware we are putting on this fantastic gig which includes some of Leicestershires best bands. So if you would like to join in with the trendy souls of Leicestershire the place to be is:-
