re my very first blog!
As many of you know my first ever post (all about me) told you of my interests, well although i am still interested in Faraja Support i have resigned as a trustee and membership secretary. Helen and the remaining trustees of the charity still need the support of the public to assist in her vision to create Faraja Suports first home (which is now underway) if you feel that you may be interested then please log onto the website for more information www.faraja.support.org.uk. The journey with Faraja Support has been very worth while and we have had many laughs. The Big Gig was great fun to organise, and the other fun raising events have also proved sucessful, so what are you waiting for... check out the website and see for yourself the good work that has been achieved this year.

The Gig
Just to let you know that the gig went really well, if you attended - we at Faraja Support hope you had a great time. I would personally like to say a big thank you to those who made it happen and those who gave us fantastic support. These amazing people were;-
The Trustees of Faraja Support especially Sarah, Mark & Ami who helped me to find some of the amazing bands. Helen, Jill, Marian & Mike for the poster/flier dash, plus everyones involvement on the day.
Jason from Produkty for sharing his valuable knowledge on many issue and many occasions. Love the E.P! copies can be obtained via;- www.produkty.webs.com
Conor from Weekend Schemers my very own hero! for helping me with the last minute hiccups (and there were a few). This guy is full of useful contacts x
Zack from Third Time Lucky for rounding up his band at such short notice after a band had pulled out and carrying out a great performance.
The bands, The Heroes, The Pennyhangers, Mike Sole Trio, The Retro, All Systems Fail, Teenage Kicks & Primal Device
Unfortunately The Pickpockets did not attend their allotted slot, however, Primal Device lead the way in what was an amazing performance and their CD can be purchased from their website www.primaldevice.com
Other people/organisations who deserve recognition are:-
LORD'S ELECTRICAL 63 Blaby Road Leicester, for sponsoring the event, printing our posters and tickets, and using five of their branches to sell the tickets.
Morgan from- Morgan Gleave Art & Design for producing such a fabulous poster and tickets.
South Leicestershire College, Wigston for allowing three very talented media students to video and take photographs of the whole days event. These Guys are;- HARLEY, JOE & BEN, well done! we look forward to viewing the results soon.
We were also very privaledged to have Tevor Locke from Arts in Leicestershire on board (we await his review, so watch this space).
OLLIE (Conors contact) for the last minute loan of his precious drum kit.
Daryl & Anthony from the Half Time Orange, for doing a fab job with the sound system
Last but not least thanks go out to Rockaboom Records and the Leicester Tourist Information Centre for agreeing to be ticket outlets.
Thank you all for your support and i hope you keep upto date with the Faraja Support Website (you never know who we will need for our next venture).
Love to you all, its been a pleasure.

This gig is in aid of Faraja Support(Reg:1125285). The charity supports orphaned and impoverished children in Northern Tanzania. The charity is currently working towards two projects. The first is the establishment of a Home-from-Home and a property is currently being refurbished to be used as the first (of hopefully many) home for children in genuine need of support. The second is a truely innovative mobile play scheme - a fully equipped vehicle and two play workers will move around villages bringing play to children who would otherwise have no access to any form of early years learning.

It's all about me..
firstly theres my family, OMG i have a huge family, theres hundreds of them! My Hubby has recently undergone surgery for a ruptured Bicep, and is recovering well. My Two girls, are very different in their ways (but this keeps the arguments alive). I am a member of Ovacome. A charity aimed to support the awareness of Ovarian cancer, an important resource for me as a gynaecology nurse with a special interest in gynae cancers. The web address is:- www.Ovacome.org.uk
Another special interest is based around Faraja Support. A registered charity in which i am a trustee. We aim to provide education via play to children in Tanzania, Information on up and coming events can be seen on our web site www.farajasupport.org.uk (take a look at the Kilimanjaro climb).
